Chamomile hydrosol is especially gentle and supportive for reactive or easily irritated skin, including skin prone to redness, eczema, or psoriasis. It helps cool inflammation, ease itchiness, and support the skin’s natural healing response, while also offering gentle emotional calming during times of overwhelm or heightened sensitivity.

I love using it as a face mist before applying oil, and also as a cooling spray on hot days. Keeping it in the fridge is a beautiful option for extra refreshment.

What is a hydrosol? 

Hydrosols are created through a traditional steam distillation process. Fresh plant material is gently heated with water in a copper alembic still, allowing steam to rise through the plants and carry their aromatic and therapeutic qualities. As the steam cools, it condenses back into liquid. Copper has long been used in distillation for its ability to conduct heat evenly and support a clean, balanced extraction of the plant’s aromatic waters.

The hydrosol is the aromatic liquid that remains. It contains the water-soluble components of the plant, along with trace amounts of essential oils, making it far gentler than essential oils while still deeply effective.

Each batch is distilled slowly and with care, capturing the subtle character of the plant in a form that’s safe for daily use.
